Other Life Events
Celebrations and ceremonies are not the exclusive domain of the deceased or the betrothed, there are many other life events that can or should be celebrated. As a celebrant I can help you plan and organise these events. Below are some suggestions but if you have an idea for a specific event or ceremony that you think would benefit from my skills and experience then send me an email and we can discuss.

Adoption
When a family decide to adopt either as an alternative to having their own children, or to compliment their biological family it is fulfilling for both the adoptive parents and the child/children if they are of an age to understand these things. As a father of adopted children I appreciate the importance of celebrating and welcoming the new additions with a wider group of family and friends. It can provide a lot of opportunities for adoptive grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and others to form a new bond with the hope that this will develop into a loving relationship. Formal welcomes, presentation of gifts and certificates, even formal commitment to the adopted children by other members of the family can form part of this celebration.

Milestone Birthdays
Coming from a very large family myself, I have been involved in the chaos of special birthdays, particularly for the matriarch or patriarch. Having someone to help organise the event and to act as Master of Ceremonies can assist in making the celebration of a birthday with numerous family and friends even more special. It does this by providing a bespoke running order that includes the obvious such as singing happy birthday and cutting of a cake, but it can also include toasts, speeches, silly games, and formal presentation of milestone gifts.
Pets
Pets are often a very important part of our lives, especially those that are long live like dogs, cats, and horses. Losing a pet can be as emotional as losing a human member of one’s family and providing an opportunity for formal goodbyes and grieving can be an enormous help to the grieving process, which is why I include it in the services I offer.
